Day One - Chicago to Michigan
Today you travel to St. Ignace,Michigan, and dine with your traveling companions at a welcome dinner. (Dinner)
Day Two - Mackinac Island Touring
Board the ferry to Michigan’s Mackinac Island where the
charm of a bygone era is preserved. No automobiles are
permitted and nothing intrudes on the serenity and natural
beauty of the island. You board horse-drawn carriages for a
scenic ride to The Grand Hotel where lunch is enjoyed.
Browse the shops along Main Street or stroll the island at
your leisure. Remember to sample the fudge for which
Mackinac Island is world-famous before taking the ferry
back to the mainland and continuing on to Sault Ste. Marie.
Tonight an optional transfer to the Kewadin Casino is offered
for those who wish to try their luck. (Breakfast and lunch)
Day Three - Agawa Canyon Scenic Train
Cross the Canadian border this morning and climb
aboard the Algoma Central Railway for a spectacular train
ride through Agawa Canyon. This all-day adventure takes us
past massive rock formations, through thick forests of
maple and birch with their autumn colors and over pristine
streams and lakes as you wind our way through Agawa
Canyon. Explore the Agawa River and its waterfalls on the
valley floor before returning to Sault Ste. Marie for a special
farewell dinner. (Breakfast and dinner)
Day Four - Return to Chicago
Depart for Chicago with warm memories of your trip to Michigan's Grand Hotel and through Canada's Agawa Canyon. (Breakfast)
