Day 1: Depart Chicago westbound on Amtrak's Empire Builder.
Board the Empire Builder and head west on the journey that takes you through unforgettable, eye-popping scenery of the majestic North and Pacific Northwest of the United States. Relax as the train makes its way through the Wisconsin Dells and St. Paul-Minneapolis, Minnesota tonight. As you awake this morning, the train makes its way through the grasslands of the "Northern Prairie State" of North Dakota.
Day 2: Arrive West Glacier Park, Montana.
Arrive at this stunningly beautiful ice-carved terrain of serrated ridges, jutting peaks, dramatic hanging valleys, 50 glaciers, more than 200 lakes, waterfalls and thick forests covering some 1.2-million acres. Overnight at the Glacier Park Lodge with a heated outdoor swimming pool, nine-hole golf course and close proximity to Glacier National Park, Glacier Park Lodge is a wonderful Montana destination resort.
Day 3: Travel to Many Glacier Hotel.
Today transfer from the Glacier Park Lodge to the Many Glacier Hotel which is located 12 miles west of Babb, MT in the northeast corner of Glacier National Park and 1 mile from Swiftcurrent Motor Inn, Many Glacier Hotel is located in the “Switzerland of North America”. The hotel rests on the shore of Swiftcurrent Lake in the heart of Glacier National Park. The Great Northern Railroad built this historic hotel in 1915. Many Glacier Hotel boasts a true Swiss atmosphere with alpine beauty that surrounds the five-story building.
Day 4: Transfer from Many Glacier Hotel to Glacier Park Hotel.
Transfer from the Many Glacier Hotel back to the Glacier Park Hotel to enjoy another night at this welcoming location. Take in the fresh mountain air before retiring for your final evening in the park.
Day 5: Early wake up and heading home.
Board Amtrak’s Empire Builder to begin your journey home.
Day 6: Arrive at Chicago's Union Station at 3:55pm.
