Day 1- Welcome to Toronto, the Capital City of Ontario
Your journey begins in Toronto, Canada’s largest city and cultural center of the country. When you arrive at the airport, you’ll enjoy complimentary transportation to your hotel. The luxurious Fairmont Royal York, built in 1929, remains one of Toronto’s most popular and historic hotels. Ideally situated in the heart of downtown, you’re just minutes from the city’s famous sights and attractions. Be sure to explore the hotel’s many wonderful amenities -- the gracious lobby, relaxing pool and spa -- before you head out.

Day 2 - Toronto Sightseeing/VIA Rail Toronto to Vancouver
Take advantage of your opportunity to explore this cosmopolitan city with your Toronto sightseeing tour. Your first stop should be the CN Tower where you can ride to the top and catch impressive views of the city. Then walk around the city's markets, Queen Street West, Kensington Market, St. Lawrence and Chinatown, and enjoy dinner at one of Toronto’s many ethnic restaurants.
The VIA Rail’s Canada Train departs at 10:00 p.m. from the station right across from your hotel. As a passenger on VIA Rail’s Silver and Blue class, your first class treatment begins with a special check-in area. Plan to be at the rail station one hour prior to boarding so you can check your bags and board at your leisure. Onboard, you’ll enjoy deluxe accommodations with a sitting room by day that converts to upper and lower berths at night. Your Silver & Blue class service includes all meals in the dining car as well as access to the lounges and domed skyline car which provides unparalleled viewing and photography opportunities. Hot tea and coffee are available in the lounge area throughout the journey.

Day 3, 4 & 5 - Crossing the Canadian Wilderness
As the train begins to head west, you’ll travel through five of Canada’s Provinces, including Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. You’ll pass by snow-covered forests, lakes, and streams, painting a shimmering picture of Mother Nature at her best. Be sure to spend time in the domed viewing car to catch sight of a bear, an elk or moose in the snow. Enjoy a few hours in Winnipeg, once the capital of Canada’s fur trading industry. As the train heads into Jasper, you’ll begin to see jagged mountains and unusual geological formations that become the magnificent Canadian Rockies. Then, you’ll cross into British Columbia and notice that the terrain gives way to plains and fields as the Pacific Ocean comes into view.

Day 6 - Arrive Vancouver - Host of the 2010 Winter Olympics
You’ll arrive in the morning, rested and waiting to explore fabulous city. While your hotel room may not be available, drop your bags off with the concierge and begin your special day. With your “Hop On/Hop Off” trolley tour, you’ll be able to see what all the excitement’s about as Vancouver anticipates the 2010 Olympics. The city’s most famous spots include: Gastown, with its cobbled streets and great shopping, Stanley Park, the Aquarium, Granville Island and Science World. Hungry for more? Vancouver boasts art galleries, unique boutiques and delightful restaurants. Or play a round of golf, hike or go to the top of Harbour Centre Tower, the tallest building in British Columbia.
Overnight – Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside Hotel
Day 7 - Depart for home or extend your stay
Transfer on your own to the airport. Return home filled with memories of this Canadian winter wonderland that will remain with you forever. Or, extend your stay for a few more days in Vancouver, Victoria or Whistler.
