Day 1 - Arrive Vancouver
Welcome to Vancouver, your starting point for your rail journey across Canada. Your package includes a transfer from the airport to your hotel. Whether you chose the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver or the Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside, your choice puts you in the heart of the city, close to shops, museums and restaurants.

Day 2 - VIA Rail Vancouver to Jasper
You have a full day to enjoy the city! Your city sightseeing tours allows you to get on and off at all the major attractions throughout Vancouver. Your train departs at 8:30pm this evening. Transportation from your hotel to the rail station is included. Nothing shows you Canada like a trip on the train. Your bedroom is VIA Rails “top of the line” accommodation. Your sitting room by day converts to upper and lower berths at night. Once aboard the train, the staff will see you settled into your room. As VIA Rail’s Canadian Sleeper Touring Class passengers, your fare includes all meals, use of any of the lounges and access to the skyline car for spectacular viewing.

Day 3 - Enroute to Jasper
You will wake this morning to the beauty of the Canadian Rockies, as you continue your rail journey to Jasper. Breakfast and lunch will be served prior to your arrival into Jasper this afternoon. We have arranged transfers from the rail station to either the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge or the Sawridge Inn. The Jasper Park Lodge is a deluxe resort unto itself in the wilderness. The charming Sawridge Inn is a 4 star property located in the heart of town. The remainder of the day is yours to explore Jasper!

Day 4 - Jasper to Lake Louise
Your transfer to Lake Louise departs at 12:50PM. The drive to Lake Louise is beautiful. Your arrival at the Chateau gives you time to view the lake and enjoy the grounds before dinner. The beauty of Lake Louise and the Chateau is unique. Only when you see the view from the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise can you understand why people say, “you must see it to believe it.”

Day 5 - Lake Louise to Banff
After the beauty of Lake Louise, you will be surprised to find that Banff offers a different perspective. This active alpine village is just about the best place to be in summer. Towering mountains and the sweeping Bow Valley offer stunning contracts. Elk roam about, totally concerned with the flow of visitors passing them by. While visiting Banff’s fun places, don’t miss a gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain or a dip in the sulphur pool. The Fairmont Banff Springs is the castle amongst the mountains and forests and boasts of offering a world class golf course and spa. The Rimrock Resort is built in such a manner that you have to take an elevator “down” to your room.

Day 6 - Banff
You are never at a loss for things to do in Banff. The village is filled with delightful shops and boutiques. Be sure to spend some time at the Fairmont Banff Springs as it is a village in and of itself. If you enjoy outdoor activities, you can golf, bike or hike.

Day 7 - Banff to Jasper
If during your travels to Banff you saw places and longed to stop, your full day sightseeing excursion will take you to many of them. As you travel to Jasper along the Icefield’s parkway*, you will pass some of the most beautiful vistas found anyplace on the globe. A stop at the awesome Athabasca Glacier for a Ice Explorer ride on this prehistoric river of endless ice is included in your day. Emerald Lakes, towering waterfalls and mountain peaks make this a day to remember. Your full day sightseeing excursion will bring you into Jasper late this afternoon where overnight arrangements have been confirmed.

Day 8, 9 & 10 - VIA Rail Jasper to Toronto
Your day is at leisure as your train departs at 5:30pm this evening. Arrangements have been made with the hotel for your transfer to the rail station. Once aboard the train, the staff will see you settled into your bedroom. As a Silver and Blue Service passenger, your fare includes all meals, use of any of the lounges and access to the skyline car for spectacular viewing. As you continue your rail journey from Vancouver to Toronto, you will have travel through five of Canada's Provinces. The mountain scenery between Vancouver and Jasper is hard to beat, but as you travel through the prairie lands of Alberta and Saskatchewan, you come to realize that they have a beauty that is all their own. In Manitoba, you enter a land of forest and lakes. This wealth of forest and water made Winnipeg, located at the junction of the Red, Assiniboine and Seine Rivers the capital of Canada's fur trade. You also see what a lifeline the train is for people who live where roads are few but lakes, rivers and waterways abound.

Day 11 - Arrive Toronto
You are scheduled to arrive into Toronto at 9:30am.Our choice of the Fairmont Royal York puts you into one of Toronto’s most popular historic hotels. Built by the Canadian Pacific Railway Company, the Royal York opened in 1929, introducing visitors to the largest hotel in Canada and the tallest in the British Empire! The hotel is located across the street from the rail station. Due to your early arrival, your room may not be ready for check-in, so leave your bags with the hotel and set out to explore the city! Your city tour will show you all the cities major attractions allowing you to get on and off the trolley as much as you please!
